Cancer Disparities, 5th year PhD

I investigate the molecular mechanisms associated to breast cancer disparities. I am interested in understanding how metabolism changes and circulating factors (such as metabolites and other signaling molecules) contribute to endocrine resistance and aggressiveness in estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer in different races.

I’m working on developing and characterizing innovative tools that can help mimic a realistic disease progression whilst considering and emphasizing race groups that are currently not well studied.
